04:40. E’ molto tardi e andiamo a dormire. Mancano all’appello una decina di seggi che non potranno in alcun modo cambiare il risultato finale. Scott Brown è il nuovo senatore jr. del Massachusetts, il successore di Ted Kennedy e il 41° voto del GOP al Senato. Oggi è accaduto qualcosa di impensabile, soltanto fino a pochi giorni fa, che avrà  un impatto profondo sulla politica americana, non solo nel breve periodo. Avremo il tempo di analizzare tutto nelle prossime ore. Ma la riflessione, stavolta, tocca soprattutto ai Democratici, sempre che non siano già  troppo impegnati a far scivolare la riformetta della sanità  tra le pieghe della burocrazia. Noi, per ora, ci andiamo a godere questo fantastico e inaspettato sogno di mezzo inverno. Il Commonwealth del Massachusetts ha dimostrato che i seggi del Senato statunitense non appartengono alle famiglie, alle dinastie o ai partiti, ma al popolo. God Bless America!
