Daniel Hannan in piena campagna elettorale per le presidenziali americane ufficializzò il suo appoggio a Barack Obama con un post dal titolo “Why this conservative is for Barack Obama“. Meno di due anni dopo fa marcia indietro e ammette l’errore:

Come abbiamo più volte cercato di spiegare, Barack Obama è un ottimo leader europeo, cioè l’esatto contrario di quel che serve agli Stati Uniti.
